Dream Again!

What is Tertiary Rehabilitation?

Teams include:

  • Adaptive Seating Team
  • Pediatric Team
  • Adult Team
  • Augmented Communications Team
  • Driving Team

The Centre offers specialized bilingual, tertiary rehabilitation services, inpatient care, and outreach programs to thousands of New Brunswickers who have suffered traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, and a host of other neurological disorders. The SCCR also serves patients with a range of acquired or inherited neurological disorders, developmental disorders, and upper-extremity amputations.

Tertiary care is all about restoring as much mobility and independence as each patient can attain— from the very young to the very old. Early intervention with coordinated and comprehensive rehabilitation care dramatically improves outcomes for the patient. A level of integrated care that looks after physical, emotional and spiritual needs of a patient requires a highly skilled multidisciplinary team like the one-of-a kind team at SCCR. See Who Provides Tertiary Care for more.

Outreach Clinics

SCCR specialized teams offer one-of-a-kind clinics at the Centre and around the province.

Physiatrists hold satellite clinic in Bathurst, Edmundston and Miramichi throughout the year as well.
