Almost 50 Years Later - A New Facility
During the last decade, it was clear that the ageing facility could not keep pace with modern rehabilitation needs. In 2005, construction started on the new $28-million Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation next to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton’s acute care facility. The Centre, scheduled to open in 2006, is twice the size of the current facility and will offer:
- double the current inpatient capacity
- Five transitional living units
- Shorter wait times
- Enhanced pediatric facilities, equipment and care
